Fuhai Tea Factory was established in 1983 by the management staff and technical backbone of Menghai Tea Factory(勐海茶厂), they specialized in producing CTC shredded black tea(CTC红碎茶), Kungfu twisted black tea(功夫红条茶) at that time, and during this semi-fermentation process of producing black tea the full fermentation process of Pu’er tea has been gradually developed and improved.
The predecessor of Fuhai Tea Factory was Menghai Xinghuo Tea Factory(勐海县星火茶厂). Fuhai Tea Factory was established in 1983 by the management staff and technical backbone of Menghai Tea Factory, they specialized in producing CTC shredded black tea, unshredded twisted black tea at that time, and during this semi-fermentation process of producing black tea the full fermentation process of Pu’er tea has been gradually developed and improved. By 1998, in order to meet the needs of Pu’er tea market development, it was renamed Fuhai Tea Factory and specialized in producing Pu’er tea.
In 2004, with the continuous expansion of the production scale, the original plant equipment can no longer meet the production needs. Therefore, more than 26 million yuan was invested to establish a new factory three kilometers east of the beautiful scenery of Menghai County（勐海县）, Xishuangbanna（西双版纳）. The new plant covers an area of more than 60 acres, and faces the famous tea mountain “Nannuo Mountain（南糯山）”. The mountains are surrounded by mountains and pollution-free, make the excellent Pu’er Tea. The factory has 36 million yuan in fixed assets and working capital. At present, the tea factory not only has advanced equipment, traditional technology and strong technical force, but also has its own raw material base. The products have complete inspection, tea tasting and terms methods. The amount of processing and producing various types of Pu’er tea up to 1,000-1500 tons. The main products are Qizi cake,brick, tuo, bamboo, golden melon tribute, light leaf There are more than 80 varieties of loose leaf tea in more than ten categories. Yang Xinyuan（扬新源）, the factory director is a well-known Pu’er tea production, tasting and terms expert. He has always insist the principle of “credibility and quality first” and has strict control on the purchase of raw materials.
The ripe tea products are ruddy and translucent, with pure and normal aromas, mellow taste, well twisted. The craftsmanship and products enable many Pu’er tea enthusiasts to taste the unique flavor of real Pu’er tea. In order to make it easy for consumers in the northern region to drink authentic Fuhai Pu’er tea products, the factory set up office in Beijing（北京） in August 2004. It is mainly responsible for auditing and managing sales agencies in the areas north of the Yangtze River（长江）, and marketing, supply and adjust products to agents and distributors within its jurisdiction. At present, a tea shop has been set up at No.6, No.2, East Tieying（东铁营）, Fengtai District（丰台区）, and a promotion center at No.11 Xiaohongmiao（小红庙）, Xuanwu District（宣武区）.
In April 2006, the factory took the lead in obtaining the “Sanitary Registration Certification for Export Foods”. Nearly 600 tons of arbor cakes produced from wild arbor and ancient tree tea have not complained. In order to solve the problems of stable supply of raw materials and pure quality, and alleviate the contradictions of many existing tea factories and serious shortage of raw materials, the factory established a joint venture with South Korea Co., Ltd. (Brown), “Xishuangbanna Fuhai Brown Tea Co., Ltd.” to develop and manage the raw materials. The period of development is 30 years. It plans to develop 20,000 acres and has invested 15 million yuan in the first phase.
